This Impact AcademyI e-learn! Is structured in 3 online modules of 2 hours each:

Aims

This online program is an introduction to the Impact Academy on i-Leadership, specifically tailored upon the current moment of emergency. For whom

Technology is already, and will be more and more, an increasingly powerful tool to develop leadership skills, if conceived as an opportunity instead of a threat. For all managers and entrepreneurs who want to manage organizations working in a hyper-digitalized and continuously changing context; for those who manage complex roles in a digital context; for those aiming at acquiring the necessary skills (not only technical) to drive the Web and not be driven by it.

Abstract

A journey through philosophical concepts to help understand the cultural framework of social innovation projects, values and meanings, with a specific focus on design for social innovation in times of environmental emergency. This journey will be useful not only to increase knowledge and allow a different interpretation of what exists, but to anchor our own action to the most advanced reflection and philosophical practices, and to comprehend the relevance and responsibility of design for social innovation in a fast-evolving world in which designers have to face new global challenges. From the ontology of things to the phenomenology of results.

We will collectively discuss the most recent works of contemporary philosophers like Bruno Latour
and Maria Puig de la Bellacasa, reflecting upon what their philosophical tools they give us to better grasp and interpret our present and anticipate the potential impact of ecological challenges on our contemporary societies, by giving interesting guidelines for our design thinking.

Aims

The aim of this Masterclass is offering tools for appreciating philosophical research and philosophical thinking as sources for designing new reference models and new experimentations for social impact.

For whom

For those who work in the field of design for social innovation, product or service design, for early career profiles interested in questioning about the responsibilities and potentialities of design through the new environmental challenges. Description

A cutting edge programme offering new perspectives and a unique combination of tools to shape social innovation in the digital era. Delivered by a faculty of renowned international experts at the intersection of behavioural economics, social sciences and design.

A journey of discovery to ignite your imagination and enrich your strategic toolbox.

Tech, Innovation and Social Impact: the power of narratives and myths of the digital economy *
Giovanni Nisato

Join Giovanni Nisato in an insightful and interactive exploration of the relationship between technological innovation and the Common Good.
How do narratives shape innovation? Are we puppets or puppeteers in the play of the digital economy? Can we direct digital innovation towards the Common Good?
In this course you will uncover and revisit how some myths of the digital era reflect on the choices we make and reflect on the complex relation between technology, innovation and social impact.

Behavioural economics: towards understanding biases and preferences in the digital age.
Tobias Gesche

Tobias Gesche brings the science of behavioural economics to your fingertips by providing an analytical framework that accounts for economics incentives and human biases.
What does behavioural economics teach us about harnessing digital technology for Social Good? How do human perceptions of risk and cooperation drive individual decisions? What role do cognitive biases play in a digital environment and how can data from such environments yield behavioral insights?

Social Design: how to design spaces to facilitate collaboration and build community *
Antonio Scarponi

Antonio Scarponi takes you on a discovery journey: from historical and philosophical perspectives on the shared space, to cutting edge tools and great practical examples of using social design to harness participation and invigorate communities through co-creation.

Understanding ‘Things Economic’ – Illuminating the unseen – Part I
Lotta Björklund Larsen and Inga Treitler

Lotta Björklund Larsen and Inga Treitler lead you in an exploration of the relationships that shape and are shaped by economic practices. Bringing social change means identifying what an economy is and understanding how societies work.
Be initiated with tools of ethnography and embark on a guided field exercise. Use the “sharing economy” as a frame to discover society’s ‘invisible’ surpluses and return to the virtual classroom on Day 6 (11.2.2021) to report and critique findings in small groups

Understanding ‘Things Economic’ –  Creating social change – Part II
Inga Treitler and Lotta Björklund Larsen

The journey continues on from Day 4 with Inga Treitler and Lotta Björklund Larsen applying the anthropological lens to the exploration of ‘things economic’ in societies. Participants present findings from their ethnographic field work in small groups (see Day 4) and Inga and Lotta lead a discussion of things economic in other times and other cultures. Ethnographic findings probe how markets are governed and what constraints and opportunities governance creates as we aim to integrate sharing economy features into inclusive economic systems in designing social change.

Thinking as behavioral scientists, acting as designers *
Michele Visciola

Join Michele Visciola to discover how to deploy behavioural modelling strategies alongside key design methods to address stubborn social challenges.
How do we understand heterogeneous individual and cultural biases when framing behavioural change programmes? How do we set preferences and biases in an evolutionary perspective? What are good examples of using behavioural modelling to shape societal change programmes?

Becoming the Design Leader you want to be
Martin Feuz and Daniel Boos

Martin Feuz and Daniel Boos close the circle of the Experientia Academy with a hands-on session to build your roadmap to Leadership for social change. Participants will get inspiration, tools and mutual challenge as they create their very own Leadership game plan and set-up for impact.
